A lot of tourist sites, historical locations, fun sites and things to do exist in African countries, but many people don’t know about WHERE they are, WHAT they do/have there and WHEN to visit, even if they know all this, it is still much hassle putting together a trip. It is the job of tour operators to handle the WHERE, WHAT and WHEN and that of the tourist to pay and show up at pick up point.
The problem
It’s quite difficult to sell and/or book tours & activities to do in destinations across Africa because a greater part of the process happens offline and manually. A small percentage of tour operators in Africa, have taking the pain to automate the process for themselves by building a website, but they don’t provide the best possible experience.
- The tour operators functioning offline most times have a small distribution network, while those online are scattered everywhere, making it strenuous for tourists to find them.
- Card payments or direct bank payments are still not convenient. Cancellations and refunds can get messy, this takes time to resolve.
- There is a high chance of fraud or a mediocre service provided to the tourist, as there is no review system.
Solution
Create a marketplace where we can have all these tour operators in one place, making it easy for tourists to connect with them to in order to find out the local tours & activities they organise.
